For simplicity's sake, I provided prices for a standard portrait
in each medium. A standard portrait is one or two individuals, shown from the shoulder up on a minimal colored background.
This does not mean that other options aren't available. I've done several portraits that fit outside these guidelines,
including multple subjects, full body poses and even houses. The pictures below are some of the special commissions
I've done. I'm always interested in trying new things so I'm welcome to any ideas you might have for your
special portrait.
Please keep in mind that all portraits are done from photographic references so the better the
photo, the better your finished picture will be. And if at all possible, I like to take my own photographs - which is
included in the cost of the portrait, that way I have a personal experience with the subject(s) and more references to work
with.
If you'd like to talk with me about a special project, just fill out the form on the contact page
or give me a call.

This is a series of baby portraits in pastel I did for a lady who is pregnant with triplet boys!! Addison is her
first child and will be the princess of the house so she wanted a series of her to commemorate when life was a little simpler.
We had lots of pictures to choose from and the challenge was to choose just the right ones, ones that really showed off Addison's
cute little personality. Then I had to decide on backgounds that would compliment each other and play with the light
source a little to give some dramatic shadows. You don't always get such a cute subject to work with so this was
a really fun project. I can't wait to do portraits of those boys!

This pet portrait commission in pastel is a group of poodles that a client asked for. Only three of them were
still living so two were taken from very old photographs. They asked me to leave room for possibly another dog to come
in the future so the layout on the page is a little lopsided. We had a lot of communication back and forth to make sure
that the animals were a good likeness, that the three white dogs didn't end up all looking identical and that their sizes
were correct in relation to each other.

This is a pastel portrait of my grandmother's house that she lived in
for almost 60 years before she passed away this past summer. My mother and her siblings were raised here, I feel like
I was raised here. It was sold to a nice family with a young child, so we know that it will be well taken care of but
they have already removed the deck in the front which was a favorite spot for my Mem to sit and read her paper in the morning
sun. I used a series of old photos and new ones to depict it as I knew my mother would like to see it. I added
flowers all over the yard and took out or covered some of the surrounding detail (like the neighbors house which should be
on the left). It was a gift for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary.
